Meghan Markle will NOT return to UK for Princess Diana statue unveiling says royal expert!

MEGHAN MARKLE will not fly to the UK to attend the unveiling of a statue commemorating Princess Diana, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex is set to stay in California during the upcoming ceremony, scheduled to take place on July 1 to mark the late royal’s 60th birthday. Royal author Phil Dampier said he “very much doubts” Meghan will travel to the UK just weeks after giving birth to her baby daughter, Lilibet Diana.

Mr Dampier told the Sun: “It wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t see Meghan for some time.

“I don’t think she is popular with the royals or the public in the UK anymore and I think she will prefer to stay in California with her two young children.”

The author of ‘Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in Their Own Words’ said having to look after Lilibet, who was born on June 4, will give the Duchess an excuse to miss out on the event.

He said: “The birth of Lilibet gives her a perfect excuse not to come.

“It may be seen as a swipe at the Royal Family, but it will just be added to an already long list.”

According to another royal expert, Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK for the ceremony but he will not be staying for long.
