Queen Camilla is helping BBC Radio 4 celebrate a century of Winnie-the-Pooh with an introduction recorded at Pooh Sticks Bridge in Ashdown Forest.
The broadcaster released an official clip on October 12 and said the Queen’s recording introduces a week of centenary programming. The message was recorded earlier this year, so today’s release is a new recording release, rather than a new visit to the forest.
The Instagram version is a collaboration with The Royal Family, The Queen’s Reading Room and BBC Sounds. For readers who grew up with Pooh and his friends, it is a warm reminder of the stories’ long life beyond the nursery.

A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh was published in 1926. BBC Radio 4 directs listeners to its Winnie-the-Pooh 100 programming, although the complete listening options for U.S. audiences have not been independently confirmed here.
