The British Royal Family Tree
Who is related to whom? Start with King Charles III and his sons, William and Harry, then follow each family branch to the next generation. The picture shows the close family at a glance; the relationships are written out below too.
Begin with Charles, Diana and Camilla
King Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales, are the parents of William and Harry. Charles is married to Queen Camilla. The two lines at the top of the diagram show those relationships separately, so Camilla is not shown as William and Harry’s mother.
William and Catherine’s branch
Prince William, The Prince of Wales, is Charles and Diana’s elder son. He is married to Catherine, Princess of Wales. Their children are Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Harry and Meghan’s branch
Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, is Charles and Diana’s younger son. He is married to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Their children are Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Where do Anne, Andrew and Edward fit?
Princess Anne, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, are Charles’s siblings. Edward is married to Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. Family relationships and the line of succession
A family tree shows how people are related. The line of succession is the order in which eligible relatives stand to inherit the throne. After King Charles III, the first seven places are William, George, Charlotte, Louis, Harry, Archie and Lilibet. That order was checked against the Royal Family’s official succession guide on September 27, 2026 and should be checked again whenever the page is updated.
