Chanel Pysnik is leaving Archewell Productions after five and a half years leading its nonfiction film and television work, according to Deadline. Prince Harry and Meghan thanked one of their earliest hires in a joint statement, while Pysnik expressed pride in what they had built together.
Nellie Andreeva’s November 3 report for Deadline, also syndicated by Yahoo, said no immediate replacement had been named. Pysnik’s next plans were not announced.
An early hire receives a public thank-you
The Sussexes credited Pysnik with shaping the company’s unscripted work and said they were “championing her as she embarks on this next chapter.” Pysnik thanked the couple for their trust and described her time at the company warmly. The statements establish a departure, but give no reason for it.
What the announcement establishes
The change: Archewell’s head of nonfiction, film and television is leaving.
The open questions: who will succeed her, her next role and any effect on individual productions have not been announced in the report.
The work viewers have seen
Pysnik’s role can also be traced through the productions themselves. Netflix’s April 2024 announcement named her as an executive producer on both Meghan’s cooking-and-entertaining series and the company’s polo documentary series. Those credits placed her alongside the Sussexes and their outside production partners.
At the time, the Sussexes’ own announcement described two distinct projects: a lifestyle series made with The Intellectual Property Corporation, and a polo series with Boardwalk Pictures. For viewers, that is useful context for a job title covering a range of nonfiction storytelling, rather than a single program.
The Netflix agreement is a separate question
Archewell and Netflix announced a multiyear first-look agreement in August 2025. Netflix’s release listed work ranging from Harry & Meghan and Heart of Invictus to Polo and With Love, Meghan. It also credited Pysnik as an Archewell producer on Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within.
Two different developments
August 2025: Netflix and Archewell announced their first-look partnership.
November 2026: Deadline reported Pysnik’s departure. The staff announcement does not establish that the Netflix agreement has ended.
We should be careful about treating a change in leadership as a verdict on a company’s entire future. The useful next facts will be an announced successor, a new production decision or a statement about the slate. Until those emerge, claims of a wider crisis go beyond what this announcement establishes.
Our Sussex coverage follows Harry and Meghan’s public and creative work as further confirmed developments emerge.
